f you've never done therapy over a screen before, it's natural to wonder whether it can really feel the same. Whether the connection will be there. Whether you'll be able to go deep on something that matters through a camera.
The honest answer — from someone who was offering online therapy before it became the only option — is yes. The work is just as real. The breakthroughs happen just as often. And for many couples, the comfort of being in their own space actually makes it easier to open up, not harder.
What changes is the commute. What doesn't change is the depth.
What online therapy actually looks like
Sessions take place over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform — not a phone call, not a chat window. You'll see me, I'll see you, and we'll work the same way we would in an office. The only difference is you're in your living room instead of mine.
Most couples join from the same location, which I prefer — being in the same physical space matters for the relational work we're doing. When schedules genuinely don't allow it, we can make a three-way call work.
Why it works especially well for busy lives
No commute means no 30–60 minutes of driving each way — and no carving three hours out of your workday for a 50-minute session
Early morning and lunchtime appointments fit around work schedules and childcare
Consistency is easier to maintain when showing up doesn't require logistics
You can join from home, a private office, or wherever gives you quiet and privacy
Washington State residents can access care regardless of where they live — no geographic constraint

Online therapy is a good fit if...
Getting to an office is difficult due to schedule, distance, or health
You and your partner have different or demanding work schedules
You travel frequently and need flexibility
You feel more comfortable opening up from a familiar space
You simply don't want to add another commute to an already full week

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
A private, quiet space — even a parked car counts if that's your only option
A reliable internet connection
A device with a camera
A willingness to show up and do the work
Sessions are available to individuals and couples across Washington State.
